Daylesford has been one of my favourite places to visit for a long time, no matter how many times I go I’m inspired every time! The run up to Christmas is probably one of my favourite times to go. The simple decorations are magical!
If you’ve been before you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about and if you haven’t, I hear you asking so what is there? Well there is…
The Farm shop
The Garden Room
The Christmas Shop
Restaurants: The Old Spot & The Trough
The Christmas Shop & The Old Spot were both new to me when I went Wednesday. We chose to eat in the Old Spot, which is just lovely! A wonderful chilled atmosphere (dog friendly) and as expected delicious food! I chose the tomato, mozzarella and pesto pizza with a mixed green salad. Cooked in front of you in the pizza oven a truly wonderful experience. Ted rather enjoyed it too, getting lots of attention! Dogs aren’t allowed in The Farm Shop or The Trough which is understandable but most welcome around the rest of the site.
If you fancy making a day of it, then it’s well worth a visit to their pub The Wild Rabbit just down the road in Kingham, yet again just beautiful! Cosy, friendly and inspiring! Also dog friendly which Ted loves!
If you have little ones they have Santa and his reindeer visiting Daylesford next month, which I can only imagine will be magical! Do you think I could dress Ted up and take him along?! (If only.. I better get on the baby wagon if I want to start such activities more about that here!) You can find the dates of his arrival on their website here.
If you can get there before Christmas do, its amazing any time of year but particularly special at Christmas.
Are you getting in the Christmas spirit? I plan to get our tree up next Sunday! It’s tradition for Shaun & I to spend the first Sunday in December getting our tree and decorating it! I really do love this festive season.
